Illustration Friday: Neighbor

When the Joneses moved out, Charlie led the neighborhood in the good- riddance-to-bad-neighbors dance. Little did he know that many in the neighborhood were biding time until they could do the dance in his honor.

Thanks much for the kind comments. No excuses for taking a lot of time away from the blog. I had to tend to other things with life... a move of the office from a suite (and sweet) setup to more of a wide-open true production facility... helping my business partner with his gallery opening... a daughter in her last year of high school, who is super-involved in many organizations (which de-facto means we're involved in the parent counterparts)... touring college campuses with that same kid, which means we'll be empty-nesting in a few months.

Don't know if I'll be hitting this on a regular basis. As you can see, I stretched quite a bit to get a doodle to fit the topic. All about artistic license, yes?

Sounds to me like you have perfect reasons why we haven't seen you. Has your daughter chosen a college yet? And I've been (and shopped) in the Loft. I love what they've done with the place!
There's a new show at Lolo. Whenever you and your wife are in town....
Meanwhile, remember to take care of yourself in all the craziness. ~L~

So glad to see you back!
The neighbor Charlie's dancing about with so much glee must have been the poster child for "bad neighbor". Charlie is very funny in all his exuberance. Love the action and fun in this post, and of course the great artwork!

It's great to see you're back, even with the neighbor "doodle"- he looks pleased! Good luck with all your endeavors.

I've danced (on the inside) a couple times when the moving van pulled out for the last time... and yes, there may be one or two who wish we were gone (not disposition, but kids & low income, which = messy yard and disrepair)

Great to see you back. I've been intending to re-populate my IF link-list, but so far yours and my brother's (had anyone figured out that connection in the past two years?) are the only ones I managed to get on there... but there are certainly many others I intend to link to.

There are some days when artistic license is all we have left. /:-P

Good to see you back. I can totally relate to the busy-with-a-kid thing. We did the college thing last year. Fortunatly, she picked the local University of Akron. This past week has been sooooo busy as exemplified by my very late post this week. I don't think I've ever started and posted this close to the new topic. Oh, well, better late than never.

As for the dance, we have done that dance only once in our current place. I can only hope that our neighbors won't do it for us.

Welcome back. I like the color contrast and the subtle background texture.
