Don't know why, but the first thing that came to mind when I saw the topic was 'wedding' was 'The Owl and the Pussycat,' by Edward Lear. This little three-stanza poem has it all... romance, a long sea voyage, music, Bong-trees, a piggy-wig, and a turkey.Oh, and the newlyweds dance by the light of the moon.

Below I've included the next three letters of that alphabet of critters. Incorporating their little bodies into the letter shapes is more successful in some than in others, and I'll probably drive myself mad before I'm done.
Honestly, all these cutesy animals (including that owl and that cat) are starting to wear a little thin. Hope to be out of this rut next week... Except for that weird alphabet... now that I've started, I must finish, I fear.

the owl and the pussycats expressions are sooo dear. I mean they look like they 'mean' something to each other! This would be cute with dance instruction feet on the floor too..... (another if concept i guess).

I think your animals are great- aren't too cutesy- they have an nice edge to them- and are really funny (and don't seem cute for 'cute's' sake). (Oddly, recently I've been thinking about the exact thing you commented on- the 'cutesy' factor in illustrations. I've been trying to put some 'cutsey' in stuff I'm working on- as balance to the large load of non-cutesy stuff in it. Tying to lighten up a bit- just a bit).

They 'The Owl and the Pussycat' look as though they have the breath of life in them. I don't know if it's your lighting, or something else. I love the moon and the romantic scene, and it's not cutesy, it's poetic.

I agree -the "lighting" from the moonlight is romantic - nice take on the topic and the poem. And your work always has a warm, rich/dark undertone that takes the sweet edge off the cuteness and makes it uniquely yours. Your alphabet continues to be inspired and inspiring - keep it up, we're cheering you on!!
I have heard of "The Owl and the Pussycat", but, I must admit I have never read it. I have now.

Another double dose of artistic goodness from the Twisselman. I agree with Andy, the animals you do are personafied quite well without going too much the cute route, yet are very "personable".
I hope everyone has taken your "cutesy" fears away. Seems unanimous! I love the characters too. And they do look completely taken with one another. Aahh, the moonglow, the perfect touch!
When you're done with that fantastic alphabet you should showcase them all together.
