Illustration Friday: Free

A bit of fun for Thanksgiving. When I saw the theme for this week, I couldn't get this blasted turkey out of my head. Being a Californian, known for our obscene attachment to the automobile and the freedom we find therein, I had to give the bird some wheels. I just couldn't figure out how to put a copy of Kerouac's On the Road into the picture. Anyway, hope everyone has a thankful, restful, peaceful holiday this coming Thursday.

Love the turkey making his getaway. Birds just seem to fit the theme some how ...

Go turkey! Great illo--very seasonal.

This is great...the turkey seems quite sure that he's going to make it out of town before someone gets him and has him for dinner! As a vegetarian, I especially appreciate this, and as an impartial viewer...it's a great illo! Have a wonderful holiday.
BTW..to answer your question about my illustration - it's a quick micron pen drawing with a bunch of photoshop effects on some very simple background shapes.

For years we drove from Pasadena to Los Gatos for Thanksgiving... Looks like The Bird just made his escape from Salinas or somewhere off Hwy 5.

Thanks for your comments about libraries. Even though we lament the loss of the libraries in Alexandria more than rue their inadequate fire and police departments, nobody NOW seems to understand that information IS PART of our identity, security and future. BTW: Let me know if you do any illustrations that include Morro Rock or Moss Landing! :-D
