Illustration Friday: Song

Maybe I wanted to finally be one of the first 100 folks to post for a topic. Maybe it's because I've got to devote this entire weekend to figuring out my taxes. Whatever the reason, I've taken an old photo-illustration I did of my son playing his guitar; when I was checking out various filter/layering/hue-saturation combos.

Anyway, song is very important in this household. Thanks to my wife's musical genes, our son and daughter are extremely talented musically. It's a blessing to be in the room when they're together playing a song. I gotta stop now, before I get all misty-eyed.

Peace to everyone. Put a song in your heart.

Oh what an honor to be in the first 100...that's great that you have a musical family....so important. Music is quite important in our household as well, and though there are no kids yet, we're heavily influencing our 18 month-old niece in that regard. Very cool photo illustration. Hope I can come up with something this week....

Nice. My kids both are very musical...even played in a big-time youth symphony. Sometimes I wonder who their father is;)

Our home is filled with music also :) The image looks great and love that it's personal!

i wish I were musically inclined, i'm not. {I don't think you can count singing in the shower, or can you?] Your family has been blessed many times with the gift
The image is intence and most appealing.

Good luck with the taxes. I know exactly what you mean. Regrettably, Merrill Lynch got an extension from the IRS so we don't have 1099's... Inspiring submission, though.

i am thinking if you would be listening to some music while doing your taxes.

i like music with guitar accompaniment.

I really like the colors, composition, and effects you achieved here. I think it's great that you posted this - it gave you an opportunity to share some nice things about your family. I live with a guitar designer, so I know what it's like to be surrounded by music and instruments...it makes life very beautiful. Wishing you lots of deductions and a big refund:>

So this is a photograph? It looks very much like a painting. I love it. I like how you can't see his face, but somehow I can perfectly imagine what his expression would be...

Having musical children is a wonderful gift. Having to endure doing taxes is the balancing point on that, I suppose.

The colors and soft tones in this illustration are like music itself. Great image.

Congrats on your lower-than-100 posting. It's been a while since I was inspired early enough to get there. It's great that your family is musically talented. I can't imagine not having music in our life. Nice illustration.

Mmm, like the lilac/ purples you've chosen here. You must be able to accompany your family on the biscuit barrel or peanut butter jar for the percussion, that's my forte. Hope the taxes are sorted, I too had a busy weekend but less taxing. ..::)

Beautiful take on the topic. I love the purples. I had a crammed week too, what with no power the entire weekend, then various other setbacks, I just barely got mine in on Thursday. over 600 entries! Its easy to miss some of my favorites.

Hiya - I keep seeing your comments posted on various blogs (found from IF/MadRetz)...I'm surprised I haven't stopped by yours.

Yeah, BSIM was quite the experience. Amazing, fantastic, I PR'd, which I was quite proud of. MadRetz took that photo of me doing my BSIM t-shirt Happy Dance : .) Your experience was good as well?

Wow, I wish I knew enough about any photo illustrator to make my pixs look like that! To me, the effect has a dreamy, underwater feeling to it. Lovely!

Thanks for stopping by, I'll have to visit you again!
