Illustration Friday: Angels/Devils

I dunno. Had to put sumpthin' up there in my mission not to miss a week of IF. They both look devilish and evil to me.

Didn't start with a sketch (or a plan... does it show?). Just started messing around in Photoshop.

I think it works. I love how you just delved into Photoshop with nothing really on your mind. Great job!

I agree. I think your experimenting paid off. Great illustration, as usual.

I like the colors that you chose, kinda moody piece.

Quite interesting. I don't know that I would recognize this as a 'Twisselman'. The background has a signature look. Overall, though, I like it. I think it is generally good to try new things. I almost always start out with a blank 'canvas'. I have an idea in my head, but I usually end up with an image that is not exactly what I envisioned, but I am usually satisfied anyway.
I wonder how many of us have that 'can't-miss-a-week' feeling.

and it works,Twiss! They both look devilish. I had to get over that "can't miss a week" thing...I am in a creative slump.

Well, I like it, different from what i've seen of yours, but interesting piece just the same. They both do have kind of an ominous look. The horns look like they can be taken off and put on at will and the background looks like dragons and winged creatures everywhere, or maybe i've just been too immersed in angels and devils this week. Very cool piece!

I really like the way this merely suggests the theme. Fantastic illo!!

Sometimes it is rather fun to create something w/o much thought (I did pretty much the same thing with my illos this week). I doodle on paper ALL of the time, but I also doodle in Illustrator! The results are sometimes something unique and creative. You did just this with Photoshop! Great job!

I like it! This is what came to mind immediately...perhaps you'll get the reference. It was a quick flash and I'm going with it:

"It was me and my sidekick
He was drunk and I was sick
We were caught up in a barroom fight
Till an Indian shot out the lights"

I know that feeling about not wanting to miss an IF...in the world of addictions, at least this one is fairly healthy!

I know what you mean... I would have just skipped this week, except I haven't missed a week since I started back in September; guess I'm a junkie of sorts. But the topic did not do much for me.

Aside from trying to fit the topic, the image is actually quite interesting. I didn't read all the other comments here, but I'm guessing someone else mentioned "ghostly" to describe it :-)

This seems to partially reveal without being too specific, like the rest is waiting in the wings. Suggestive I think.

Hey - I thought there might be a remote chance you'd recognize this piece of Tom Petty's "Crawling Back to You". The figure on the left made me think of TP and the figure on the right looks like an Indian brave...and that's where the connection happened.

well done… it does not have the look of expirementation at all…

Very cool - I really dig the colors. They look like heavy metal guys to me - the devil reminds of Iggy Pop. This would be a very cool album cover I guess is what I am saying. Also - I really like the blocky shadows.

not sure how i missed this one but i love the shapes of the faces and the simple yet defining colours that you choose work so beautifully. You have a signature style in all that you touch!
