This doesn't quite say 'sorry' to me.
Turmoil? Remorse? Anxiety?
Maybe despair.
Took it from a sketch I did a couple of years back...something I did quickly in a dark time...a personal thing. Funny how bringing it back out can remind me of a hurt. But just as quickly I realize that all things, including despair, pass.
Peace and goodness to all.

i don't know… i think the figure has a pleading gesture… it could mean sorry… at any rate, great work…
I'm sorry it doesn't say sorry to you :) but I think illustrating a dark time works well for the theme. This has a truly despairing aura about it.
It's facinating to look at, sort of what a depressed muppet would feel. I love it.
yes, this painting looks sorry! You're right Thankfully despair and pain does pass!
Sadness and despair when put to paper or paint brings a lot of old baggage, but, as with this, they can also bring a beautiful illustration of those dark days. Love this piece
i see a person full of hurt and despair. there appears to be a pleading in his eye. i think it speaks very loudly. nice work
yes...this piece looks emotional. Very good illo for sorry!
This definitely says sorry to me. Very dark and sad. I really like the one big bloodshot looking eye. Great moody colors. How nice it is that all things pass. . .
Remorse may be, like he's been outside in the cold weather behind someone's window all night just to show remorse over something he did wrong.
I look at this and see a young child who is very sad. Since they are a child, they have a look of sorry, even if the person they are looking at should be the on that is sorry. This has a very sad feeling to it. Fantastic!
this piece is so expressive and has so much style to it
Sad & beautiful ... that's what makes it so wonderful. Love the blues. ; )
Smooch,
Your Tart
Psssssst. Have groovy week!
Well, it definitely shows sorrow...
he looks very sad!
Thanks, all, for the comments. I can't tell if my submission ever made it to IF... I know there were problems over the weekend... Can anyone clue me in? Looks like it's okay now, but I'm still not seeing my post on the list... Still it's nice to see folks checking in here. Mebbe I'll try submitting to IF again... Just hate to if the first time actually took, and I'm just missing seeing it. Apologies if that happens.
You're there.
great illo...That's smell a truly despair story...beautiful!!
I think this definitely could fit in with "sorry"...very compelling illo...and I understand what you're saying about your post. I think this is why I keep putting off picking up my paints...last time I did, I was in a different area of my life; going through some tough times, and the lost of a loved one. It is as if I am trying not to relive those days.
this very aptly evokes a feeling of sorrow.
Sorry means more than apology. It can also mean a sorry state, and this figure seems to be in some kind of sorry state. The blue is a perfect color, since it adds to the feeling of sadness and discomfort.
Angst. wonderfully done.
He looks angst ridden enough to be reallly reallly sorry, great moody piece.
Oh yeah, I've got some drawings too from a darker time in my life. I agree--looking at this stuff now can bring back those sad or angry moments but at the same time they do help you realize just how much better things do get with time. Great work and thanks for sharing.
There is a lot of emotion in the eyes and line movements, I agree with Mike (1st post), when I first saw this it looked like he is pleading for forgivness or maybe understanding.
That is sorry without a doubt! Excellent piece!
powerful image, I love the eye...so many things to be sorry for and so little time
Very emotional work ~ it shows!
Really Liking the loose expressionistic mode!
Kinda late getting around to commenting this last week. I'm still recovering from New Orleans.
This isn't quite the style I associate with you, but it's a powerful image, none-the-less. My first reaction was "Gollum" from LOTR. Not that it looks like Gollum--maybe it's the facial expression that does it.
WOW!! I love this illo a lot!! there is something very emotional and touching about it, and the style is awesome!
good art
