Illustration Friday: Portrait...
...of Blackie as a young dog...
Back when Blackie was a young dog dandy,
Dressed to the nines, on the town he'd bandy.
High-struttin' and high-falootin' was he
In those doggie days; footloose and carefree.
Taking a break, for this portrait he sat;
Bow-tie and tail(s), sharper than the aver'ge cat.
Peace to all.

Try this:
Instead of just reading it, sing it.
And let the southern accent kick in.
If you can get a banjo we have ourselves a great song... Try it, its so fun! =D
Loving the portrait.
defiently has the demeaner of a southern gent.
nice lil diddy and pice to go with it. A toast to Blackie in his younger days.
it's a wonderful portrait... great idea, give the old dog a pat on the head... :-)
This is such a cool portrait. Love it!
I was happily surprised by this charming portrait!!! I'm always a sucker for a cute dog!!! Wonderful!
now this is C L A S S Y .
haha I love it, nice little description with it too
Haha, nice portrait. I have missed seeing you around and was very pleased to find your name on the list. Hope all is well with you.
Oh wow--this is too cool! Love his distinguished expression and the accompanying words.
Wow...you put a lot of work into this one, Twisselman. Beautifully drawn and rendered. Yeah, Mrs. T is back, and we'll keep taking it a week at a time, but I've decided that we're definitely not leaving for good. We'll be back as often as possible.
I've got a feeling Blackie can shine his way through anything, he's a debonair gent. I love the way he looks, strong and sharp and the suit is so fine. Beautiful piece of work
Hi again. You wondered what software I use-Jasc Paint Shop Pro 9, although in the past six weeks or so i've been using a new oil paint brush-much more realistic, and with the weeks theme portrait and with fat2 I used the topography effect as well, which brings the brush strokes up even more. I'm fairly amazed at how realistic, how it mimics traditional oil and canvas.
Bye the way thanks for your comment, much appreciated.
He certainly knows how to pose for a portrait. Like the words, I imagine he has a pipe as well now!
We have a lot of advertisement from the "royal canine" going on here, I want to replace them all with your illo!
PS: I have my enthusiastic moments, don´t I?
I did a doubletake! He's certainly a fine looking dog, and so well groomed! I like the greys and the beam of light on his head...he looks very important!
what a dignified dog. very charming painting. I wish my neighbors dogs were this cool. They yap constantly. oh to have sublime twisselman dogs living next to me instead of the yappers.
blackie is wonderous… well done… i guess having him sit for his portrait was easy…
This made me smile. The words are great, but I just love the look on his face and the little gleam of the watch chain!
This is beautiful!! He would make a great character in an adventurous story!
Captured his essence perfectly!!...love the coloring, and the shadows are fantastic! Awesome!!
Oh what a great idea and wonderful portrait. I love everything about it. The expression and background. Beautifully done!
Hey you...what a great portrait!!!! Love it as usual!!!
That is one nicely dressed dog. No table scraps for him.
