An important duty of the bartender is to run a clean bar. I bartended for a coupla years after college, kicking around with no plan and no direction... Nothing high-class; a beer-and-wine joint, a bowling alley. No fancy drinks; Swiss highballs (otherwise known as wine coolers), whiskey straight up, or whiskey and water.
I spent a lot of time washing glasses and mugs.
So here's a set of glasses, very clean, done in a 3-D program (StrataPro). Yeah, I let the software do most of the work, but, hey, I had to draw the profile of the glass; something for the program to lathe. And I had to compose it, make the shaders, set the lights, and such.
Anyway, if I think of something to actually draw, I'll add it to the blog... I won't put a new entry on IF... I'll just add to this post.
Peace, everyone, and keep it (whatever 'it' you choose) clean.

Wow, nice peice.
wow! amazing!!
excellent work!
nice glass rendering, good composition. I'd never guess it was 3D generated.
That's awesome! Great work!
Nice job.
Just an amazing image! Made me look at all your stuff. Your'e a great talent!

Good work. And I think an artist is an artist regardless of the tools being used. I just purchased Poser and Shade and intend to explore the world of 3d art as well.
That's incredible. Great detail. Not familiar with that program but obviously a very nice one.

I am in AWE!
No spots! Those glasses are so sparkly! Wow, amazing digital work!
Wow! Awesome work on the glasses....I'd like a nice white wine spritzer, please:>
sparklicious!
incredible, very well-done!
I love this--the way the glasses are composed and the repetition and color! very well done!
i like it!
Applause; wonderful consistant perspective throughout the glasses; the colors just make it shine. Standing ovation!
Lathing is fun! You can make goblets, vases, apples, bowls... Whenever I think of a bartender cleaning glasses the first thought to come to mind is the bartender spit-cleaning them in "Blazing Saddles"
Very nice.
These are too beautiful to ever be used. Just really eye-popping image. Ummm, great piece!
That work is really really great i love the transparency awasome!!
these are amazing.
i love the properties of glass, and the way it interacts with light. bravo.
Whew u had me super envious there for a sec. thought u did that in ps or illus. i was about to pack it in. glad u did it on a 3d program. looks like ur learning fast. these glasses are great. hope to see more
I don't think people know how much effort it takes to do a 3-d scene. I've dabbled in 3-d using the free program Persistence of Vision (POV-ray). Check out http://www.povray.org for some truly wonderful images (not by me, of course). I'll have to check out StrataPro.
I wouldn't change anything for this weeks entry. This is a great illo.

Wow. Nice illo! I know how hard it is to work with glass as your object - I could never really get it but you've captured it beautifully.
Wow! One of your best IF illustrations ever! Beautifully rendered. BTW, the Wild Rose is also called the Wood Rose, the Dwarf Rose, or the Nootka Rose.
Looks gorgeous, Twisselman. All that 3D stuff is just as hard as drawing. Aside from the techie know-how, you've got to compose it, arrange lighting, texture. It's a little like directing, in a way. Nice work.
Wonderful - it does look so much richer and textured than most digital work. I love the composition as well. Very cool.
this is the kinda glass I like to drink outof! Real Clean, no spots!!! Awesome work as always!!!
That is very beautiful. Great compostion, great colors. I would love to have this framed on my wall! Did you ever make frosted glasses, washing them in hot water, then putting them right in the freezer? They're nice, but not this beautiful. Really great.
Very well done!
Sorry I have been lost for so long, no Inet. =(
I think these are lovely!
Did the glass-washing routine myself in a couple of jobs long, long ago - including a 2-week stint in a 'Bavarian beer tent' set up in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle. (Also had to wrestle the very heavy, attractively-branded, litre empties away from the clientele...) Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
Spotless! shiny! Very nice work!
Superb work !! Really great looking piccy !
