Illustration Friday: Sacrifice

When I read the topic, the first thought to come to mind was Papa, who gave up much to make sure his three kids had opportunities he never had. I think he felt trapped in his occupation, and I believe there was unrealized potential in this man.

He died 28 years ago, and a day has not gone by in those years that I haven't thought of him. I have had a blessed life, due in no small part to my Papa.

Peace, everyone. Hug your loved ones.

I enjoyed reading about the part your father played in your life. You are fortunate to be nourished by the memories of a fine man. As always this is a fine illustration.

Playing catch-up here, too! This is a very touching post. I think a lot of that generation was in the same boat as your dad...they got married and had children young, and had to provide for them. Unlike later generations who had time to "find themselves." Really funky technique you used here. Great job. The skyline illo is fun as well! Thanks for stopping by and leaving kind words. It's been a busy month for me too and I haven't had as much free time to visit every blog I normally would. Peace to you!
