Illustration Friday: Help

"The nine most terrifying words in the English language are, 'I'm from the government, and I'm here to help.'"
- Ronald Reagan

Actually, after I'd already started on the drawing, I heard someone from Mississippi speak and say that the government now was doing a pretty good job down there helping Katrina victims.

Don't know who this guy's s'posed to be... just some bureaucrat.

And now, a BONUS feature!!!

Because I've missed so many weeks... (no excuses, chalk it up to laziness and life in general)... I'm gonna get all caught up in one swell foop. Below please see my post for

CLEARTHANKSGIVINGINVENTIONMIGHTMASK...

Bartholomew could not mask his concern that clear Sunday afternoon after Thanksgiving, when, on a stroll with Myra, his intended, they met Reginald. Was it an invention of his mind or might there have been a twinkle in Myra's eye as Reginald tipped his hat?

Peace to all, and find someone who could use a helping hand... or just a tip of the hat.

I'm glad the aliens brought you back.

Those are scary words, but as weary as your little bureaucrat makes me, his familiar features take the sting away-just a little.

Thanks for the bonus-what a treat. You've managed to bring all the IF challenges for the past weeks to a sweet and fascinating piece of work.

Just awesome!

Hey...great to see you back! Bri said I scared you off.
Love what you did with the bonus...terrific way to catch up!

I'm completely addicted now. Too bad it doesn't replace another addiction!

Take care...

I dig your style with the bureaucrat, Sir. It's sort of cartoony and caricature like. Keep them coming.

Lol! You too? I resorted to a 'phobiainventionmightmaskhelp' in desperation...
:)
Cheers!

Very glad to see you back. Wonderful way top 'catch up'. From now on you are not allowed to stay away this long (I'm not saying you must post each week). Your fans await.

Hi Twisselman,

Not much happening on my blog this December. I'm in Hawaii now at my daughter's house. Everyone here thinks I'm nuts for using a computer on vacation. :) Mea Culpa

All levels of government seem to have dropped the ball in New Orleans. There is a lot of discontent in the city. At least with those that are left.

One man I met was the exception. In the devastated middle-class lakeside neighborhood. His house was completely restored and beautiful. He told me he felt the government did a good job, as far as it went, but he took personal responsibility to finish up the job.

I think his viewpoint is unique.

Until later,
Robert
