Taking the easy way out this week. I'm re-posting a drawing from a previous Illustration Friday... way back in November of '05. The topic was 'night,' and I did this coyote howling at the night light in the sky, stating that from time to time I felt like doing the same thing... the throwing back my head in a mournful noise bit, that is.
The first time I've resorted to this tactic of re-posting, but there are no hard and fast rules here, I believe.
Oh, and I posted the 'poem' thing late, after the deadline. Click here if you care to see it. Just flaking out left and right it seems.
Peace to everyone, and here's to the occasional melancholy howl and the inner well-being it can bring.

my old dog would "sing" whenever i gave him the first notes, moon or no moon... :-)
great illo!
I'm reposting the comment I made about this in Nov '05--naw, just kidding.
I always like your stuff. Love the atmosphere. Great job!
Easy, slow rules be great- so is this piece!
This morning I heard dog a neighbor dog howling- yes, sounds so sad. Think his owners are away.
Peace to you.
The moon gives to the human beings very interesting feelings. Mysterious and a little sad this image but always with your awesome style.
Thank you indeed for your kind comment.

Well for those of us who didn't get a chance to see it the first time it is a treat! Thanks for re-posting it!
I can't seem to take my eyes off of his big round toes! Wonderful illo then and now and it's fine to reuse art, me thinks. Hey at least you accomplished your Thinking blogger award picks, I still haven't done mine and am not sure if I have the time yet.
I really like this piece. You've expressed so much. It works with the cropping and yes, we all need to howl once in a while. Thanks!
Flaky or not i still love your style and I love this.
Having come on board post 11/05 I'm glad I get to experience this. The glow of the moon pulls me in as do your words. Wolves are among my favorite animals, haunting and mysterous, powerful and knowing. Thanks for showing this again.
Glad you reposted, it's great to see wonderful work a second time. Never get tired of great pieces.
Great stuff. Love the loose lines and the Coyote really looks like he is throwing that head back and letting it all out.
nothing like howlin at a full moon. great stress reliever. and arent we supose to recyle the good stuff, otherwise id never have seen this one.
i love this!!!!
Nothing wrong with that Twissleman, and I'm not sure if I've seen it myself, so I'm very glad you did repost this! That moon is so intense!
"BOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwllllllllllllllllllllllll!"
(That's all I have to say.)
Aye, Twisselman, I’ve howled many a time!
