Illustration Friday: E is for...

Elephant in the living room...
Gotta say I wasn't elated when I read this week's topic. I mean it didn't evoke any real emotion in me. I earnestly tried to ignore the first thought that entered my mind... an elegant elephant eating eggplant in an Edsel. So I started thinking about people with E as one of the intials in their names. Einstein, Eminem, or ... say, how about Edgar Allen Poe? An eclectic mix of personalities, I know. As a matter of fact, I endeavored to render a likeness of that great American poet and originator of the detective story...

... but my initial attempt didn't excite me all that much. May eventually finish it and post it to the other blog.

So. I thought and thought, and all sanity eluded me. That damned elephant came trumpeting back into my train of thought, blasting my eardrums. "Egads!" I exclaimed, exhausted. "Enough! Let me extricate the beast from my brain!" So 'ere you go. Entertain yourself in his living room.

Peace, everyone.

Entertained by your Elephant which might push you over the Edge :)

But where's the Edsel?

I love the jaded expression on the elephant's face. Very expressive.

Yeah, no Edsel... got too tired thinking of the e's. The expression on this pachyderm is probably on my face, too, at this point.

Edging Edge ... Es are Evil!

Good elephant, there Twisselman! And I think you did a great job on Poe, too.

Now about that Edsel... quote the Twisselman... "Nevermore...."

The elephant works for me - nice job! And you spent some time in the e section of your dictionary...impressive. Poe is nicely done as well.

An elephant sitting in the chair with a glass of wine, well it could'nt hve happened to a better person. After this weekend's blogger probs I could follow his example. Like your Poe.

I wasn't Elated about this week's topic Either. I love your elephant...he has such a great Expression. You should do an Einstein portrait someday. Your style would be great for Einstein.

Did you eliminate the edsel, or did the enormous elephant in the room evict it?

A very good image. I like the light and the colours, the chair colour is yummy.

Well, your elephant actually evoked a spontaneous connection to the Dean Martin CD we purchased on a whim at Starbucks this weekend...remembering his TV show (I'm almost that old) and his martini. I like it! He looks perfectly normal chillin' after a long day of stampeding across the urban savannah. Edgar looks good too!

The pink shorts got me to thinking.... if he has too amny of those drinks, does he begin to see pink humans?

I always love you characatures. (with a bit of honorable envy). Keep 'em coming!

Thanks, everyone, for all your kind comments. Looks like I'll have to figure out a way to get an Edsel in the next topic. Anyone got some good source material?

Love you elephant. Very elegant.

Damn, I hadn't thought about drawing an Edsel until I saw your blurb. Which is crazy because we own 2 Edsels (1958's). Silly me!
