So Jonah went to sea in the belly of a 'fish' of some sort. Whether you take the story as literal fact or as allegory, his sea cruise had to be a little uncomfortable. And the fish... or whale... or whatever... having a hooman bean stuck in his craw. That had to hurt. No wonder he belched the reluctant prophet up on the beach.Think I went a little overboard myself, with all the layering done here. One of those instances where you don't know where to stop. Same goes with this wordy text entry. Stop me, please.

I like how the whale is transparent. All the bubbles and reflective light look great!
I don't see anything wrong with the layering, it's a beauty image. Underwater and in belly interpretation. I like the waves in the bubble and Jonah beckoning with his hands for the whale to open it's mouth. Over wordy is what I did to your peanut butter....::::-)

I dig all the layers..they make the ocean feel as thick and drak and scary as it must be. I love the way Jonah has fit himself to the shape of the whale with his hands facing upwards. It's an excellent illustration, and I enjoyed reading your commentary.

the layering is perfect. there's almost an airbrushed effect of jonah onto the whale, and then he sinks back in and blends with the whale.

Great take on the Jonah story...I like all the layering, but you're right, sometimes it is hard to know when to stop. Thanks for your comments on my blog - New England or Old England....I tried to make it innocuous. I always figured being the wife of a sailor would be very worrisome. I'm glad that comes across in the illustration.
